Piano Recital

Elizabeth had her first piano recital yesterday.  She started piano lessons in her music class at school back in January.  Since then, she's learned the difference between whole, half, and quarter notes; the notes middle C through G; and where those notes go on the treble clef.  She did a fantastic job, if I do say so myself, for only having lessons for 4 months in a group setting.  She's having such a great time in her group lessons that now she's asking for private lessons.  I guess we'll have to start working on finding a piano for home.

  1. Oh Elizabeth! Very well done!! You look so pretty and grown up in your dress, and you played beautifully. :)

  2. Beautiful!

Check Craigslist-- people are always giving them away. We got ours from our next door neighbor.

  3. How fun! I can't wait for my boys to learn piano (if they want to)

  4. Oh, beautiful job!
My first thought was Craigslist too, they are always on there for free!

  5. How fantastic!

Definitely check Craigslist. You can find them really inexpensively on there.

  6. Bravo Elizabeth! We bought our piano from a friend of one of my husband's co-workers. Just letting people around you know that you're looking for a piano might help you find one.

  7. You won't believe what I'm going to tell you... we found a piano on the side of the road with a 'free' sign on it! We took it of course and it's in perfect condition... tune fantastic and all! I still can't believe it!
I have been thinking about getting K into lessons, but think I'll wait a little longer. Perhaps 5 is a little young still?

  8. i am just catching up! yay, elizabeth. she looks so confident!
love the nature walk photos below, too!

  9. Just lovely Elizabeth! Such a beautiful young lady!
    Lisa :)

  10. Yay!
Playing a musical instrument is definitely on my To Do list!

I love to hear what you think!
