Mother's Day Weekend

I hope all the mommies out there had a fabulous Mother's Day weekend.  We had a wonderful weekend of sunshine, warm weather, friends, nature and yummy food.  What more could a mommy ask for?

My friend, Melissa, came over with her kids for a few hours on Saturday morning.  The kids had a great time playing, making mischief, and lunching together on the deck.

It's so sweet to see my littlest baby starting to make his own friendships.  Sigh...

Saturday evening, we relaxed with breakfast for dinner, by candlelight in a thunderstorm.  The piece de resistance were the yummy Surprise Corn Muffins, recipe courtesy of Lisa.  The jelly surprise in our muffins was muscadine jelly from our local farmer's market.  Divine!

Paul took the kids to the woods for a secret field trip on Saturday.  They left with empty lunchboxes in hand, so I was a little confused.

Later, they presented me with Mother's Day nature cards.

Philip's (he likes to think outside the box)

I couldn't have asked for better Mother's Day cards.  They are growing ever more lovely, if that's possible, now that the flowers are drying out a bit.  I love them!

  1. The Mother's Day cards...amazing! What a good hubby he is to have thought of such a lovely gift.

Sounds like it was a very nice day and weekend. :)

  2. Your photos are always so amazing. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend.

  3. so fun and what a sweet hubby to do such a thoughtful thing -- some time alone for you without kids and beautiful home made, heartfelt gifts!

  4. For every holiday my sister makes us homemade cards--they are the only ones I keep. I'm glad you had a lovely mother's day!

  5. sweet! i love the nature cards!

  6. That is the lovliest gift....right up my alley for a favorite! Such creative little ones you have. I LOVE that little owl shirt (it's an owl isn't it?). I'm glad you liked the muffins, thanks for the link to.

BTW, white wine or champagne vinegar. I would use white wine vinegar with the rosemary.

  7. Thanks, Lisa! It is an owl cotton, printed with leaves. :)

  8. Those are some really great Mother's Day cards your kids made for you.

  9. So sweet. Thank you for sharing.

I love to hear what you think!
