As part of our maypole celebration, I decided to make a little liquid sunshine to share with the group. Following GardenMama's lead, we made a treat out of our homemade lemonade by freezing it in the hollowed out lemon halves. A mini-muffin tin was the perfect vehicle for holding these lemons upright so the lemonade could freeze in them.
The violets in some of the lemon treats added a little bit of fancy to an already fun treat!
Everyone at the maypole celebration enjoyed them immensely. I even saw a few adults enjoying them. :) But watching the littles with their yummy lemon treat was priceless.
*Disclaimer: I don't advise this kind of behavior with a lemon stuck in your mouth*
A few lemon treats even made a whirl or two around the maypole.
The kids are already asking when we can make lemon treats again so I have a feeling they will be a spring and summer staple around here.
Really cute idea! I love using the lemon "shells" to serve the dessert in!ReplyDelete
