on Mother's Day

I hope all the lovely mamas out there had a very happy Mother's Day. Although I had to work a good bit of the weekend, we were fortunate to host a family meal today, which is always a treat.

My own mother lives half way around the world, so I didn't get to see her today, but I did get to spend some time with my grandmother, a fabulous mother of 2, grandmother of 4 and great-grandmother of 7 (and one on the way).

We also shared our first strawberry shortcake of the season. My favorite dessert!

Finn was thrilled to spend more time with his cousin, Aidan. They are getting so big and becoming such great friends. I just love watching their little blossoming relationship.

It was a special treat to see my brother's whole family again before they head north toward their new home.

And Paul, well, he didn't disappoint in the gifting department. Apparently, my hinting heavily about the beauty Lisa Leonard's custom necklaces paid off. The family tree necklace, personalized with all our names, was gifted to me for Mother's Day. I really do love it so much!

On top of that, he bought me a spinning wheel lesson so hopefully I'll be able to figure my spinning wheel out in the near future. Yay! I'll keep you updated on how that goes!

  9. that's beautiful! & spinning is on the brain! Drew says there's a 'master's spinning' course. I'm so headed in that direction. (certainly nothing masterful about my style right now!)

  11. My sister got me a very similar necklace for my birthday, but it's not from Lisa Leonard; it's another Etsy artist. It has the tree in the center and our names around the edge (dave and my name too). I LOVE it and weat it everyday!

I LOVE your pottery post. You seem to be so talented in everything you do artistic Joy! A true artist.
