running and partying

We had quite a busy weekend, this first weekend in May, so I'll have to give you the scoop in stages. On Saturday morning, we headed off bright and early for Paulie's 5K, which he ran in fantastic time.

He's lucky to have such supportive little brothers cheering him on.

Paulie crossed the finish line in 27:24. Not his best ever, but a good run!

He spies his family waiting among the spectators. A good race made even better by supportive family cheering at the finish line.

Directly from the race, Paul, Finn and I headed south a bit to help my nephew, Aidan, celebrate his 4th birthday. Finn had a wonderful time picnicking with his cousins and their friends.

The celebration was slightly bittersweet because this will be the last time we can drive the short distance to visit my brother, John, and his family. They are soon moving to the Philadelphia area where John found a great new job opportunity. We will definitely miss them being so close by!

The birthday boy, Aidan, is a very serious ball player!

But it cracks me up to see him swing. :)

His little brother, Aren, just wants to keep up with the big boys.

Finn, by contrast, hasn't the slightest bit of interest in balls. He's definitely a boy who loves wheels.

We had a wonderful helping Aidan celebrate turning 4, and we hope to see their family again very soon!

  2. And to get to Phildelphia, you'd have to drive through Annapolis (kind of)! So I say, yay! ;)

  5. That swing made me laugh, too.

Maddie has this thing with the wii bowling where she lifts her leg and almost does this little hop. Cracks me up.
