the rest of my time at the institute

I snapped a few shots of the "fairy folk" (4-6 year olds) room one day just so I could remember how it was setup. They were getting ready to rest so I didn't have the best lighting, but I loved seeing how they put all the dolls to bed before their own rest time.

Here is the whole table of felting that our class finished during our sessions. Several of my pieces were missing (mostly small things), and I'm sure other people had missing pieces as well so this wasn't even everything we made!

A funky grafted tree in the courtyard that I thought was so fascinating. I especially like the different bark types together. You can't see the top of the tree, but it was absolutely thriving!

The singing group from the "coffeehouse" night singing to the "middle folk" children's group.

Woodcraft made by the "middle folk" during the afternoon sessions.

Collaborative paintings done by the painting class. They were on display for about 24 hours...

then the class cut the paintings into many pieces with a chain saw and made a path through the courtyard for everyone in the institute that week to come pick up a piece that spoke to them. It's kind of hard to see, but there are pieces of the paintings in the grass below.

I truly had a wonderful week and cherish the relationships and nourishment that I obtained through this experience. Thank you, everyone, for the many well-wishes this week. I missed reading many blogs this week so I look forward to catching up with everyone over the next few days!

  1. Wow! What a fantastic experience for you. I love all of the pictures. The cutting of the artwork and spreading them out for people to pick up is a really different idea. Love it all, and so glad that you got to participate in all of this.
