Outside: in haiku

Leaves laddering up
growing toward the wide blue sky
waving in the wind.

A purple flower
so beautiful and quiet,
sitting in the shade.

Crepe myrtle blossoms
weighting branches toward the ground,
fragrant evening heat.

    Beautiful haiku.

(my haiku response is pretty awful) :)

What a wonderful activity. I must really encourage more poetry with our boys.
