That Finn!

Last evening, as I was cleaning up the flower beds...ahem, weeding, our neighbor/babysitter, Mary, stopped by to show us the pottery she'd been working on in art class at school.  Wheel-thrown pottery is one of my art passions so I was excited to see what she'd done.   She did a great job with the pieces she brought to show me!  I really enjoy seeing someone's first exploration with a new medium.  Fascinating!

As Paul and I were admiring Mary's pottery, Finn apparently decided that Paulie's skateboard could use some decoration.  That Finn!  I guess the benefit to being the only child always at this house (while the others visit their other parents) is that you can embellish your siblings belongings while they're away.

As dusk was falling, we noticed that one of the horses was enjoying a snack of the weeds I'd pulled.  Too bad I can't just unleash him in the flower bed and save myself some work.  ;)

  1. I love wheel thrown pottery. I Want to take a class myself. It seems very therapeutic.

Your little boys is so cute...that's something I think my son will too. :)

And I love that horse of yours... I'm starting to see a lot of preg-o animals.

  3. My little man is just the same with his sister's things and she doesn't need to be out the house when he does it

  5. Finn...what a cutie! I loved seeing the beautiful photo of your horse. Wouldn't that be great if you could train an animal to eat the weeds in a garden!? :)

  6. I should have clarified that the horses just beyond the fence are not actually ours, although my kids might beg to differ. Our side of the neighborhood backs up to a pasture that formerly held cows and now has 3 horses and a mule. We enjoy feeding them grass clippings, weeds and smuggled organic carrots (that would be from Elizabeth), but otherwise are not responsible for their care. The best of both worlds if you ask me. :)

  8. At least it's washable? Goofy boy-- Grady has been decorating our no-climb baby gate these days.

It was good to see you today-- and I forgot to tell you I loved that shirt you had on!

  10. Kind of giggling over the chalk... ;) I have a few bricks on my red brick house that are no longer red because of chalk art sessions Kayla had a couple of years ago. We tried and tried to wash the chalk off, with no luck. Every time I come in to the house, I see one of the bricks. The more time that passes, the more that particular brick makes me smile.
