Maundy Thursday

We did a bit of celebrating Maundy Thursday last evening, beginning with some discussion about this icon, purchased in Italy on a trip Paul and I took there in 2005.  We have several icons in our house, but this one is my favorite with the bright, almost modernist, feel.  I also like that you can't tell which one is Judas, making me suspicious of them all.

We also had a simple meal of homemade bread and vegetable soup.  I imagine the Last Supper was pretty simple fare.

Also yesterday, I finished up the last piece I wanted to add to Finn's Easter basket.  He has been in love with Owl Babies for quite some time.  "Poor Bill..." Finn says when Bill starts yearning for his mommy.  I hope he'll give this Bill a little lovin'.

  1. That icon is really unique. I can see why you like it.
The soup & bread look rather scrumptious too!
    Peace.

  2. I really like that icon as well. The owl baby is adorable. Finn is a lucky little boy. I still have some crafting to do for the Easter baskets before I'm done.

  3. I love it all, but esp. the owl.

By the way-- were the boys at the Sci Center today with school? I saw a group from their school (same one as our friends' kids) and one looked suspiciously like yours-- Phillip, I think? Orange jacket, tye-dye shirt?

  4. Melissa, that's so funny that you recognized him from my blog. It was Paulie. He had a field trip there today. :)

  5. My daughter loved Owl Babies when she was about Finn's age. Such a sweet book-he'll love that owl you made for him!

  6. Aww...that owl couldn't BE any cuter. He's just adorable, and I bet Finn will love him. My own little Kayla loves owls. Truly, they are such fascinating birds!

Your bread and soup looked delish, too.
