For this week's Yarn Along I'm still working on Inconceivable, which is in turn a heart-breaking and soul-encouraging read. I'm about halfway through and completely enthralled with the journey of this family who made such a sacrifice.
I also started working on this sweet textured sweater for a friend's new little one. The pattern is the Fred Textured Sweater from Natural Knits for Babies and Moms, and the yarn is Swish DK in Carnation from Knit Picks. I think this soft, washable yarn will make the perfect winter sweater for a 6 month old sweet girl.
And Finn's Christmas sweater, that I just began last week, I finished after only 4 days. I really enjoyed working on this sweater and made a size 6 so hopefully we'll get 2 winters of use from it. (In chunky yarn and size 10 needles, it went so quickly!)
He was impish, of course, about having a photo shoot in his new sweater, but he really loves his new red Christmas sweater.
It's hard to believe its only been 2 years since I knit my first sweater, also for Finn, and now he has his fourth mama-knit sweater. A little boy who has a Christmas birthday needs a special sweater to wear each year (and also for Christmas pictures which is why he received it now instead of waiting until his actual birthday.)
Oy is that little guy getting cuter every day or what?ReplyDelete
Joy...Joy....Joy!! How amazing is that sweater??? I love it. I love a fast amazing knit. I love the cable. He looks so cute. I am a little sweater obsessed right now. I want to go check out your new knit too!!ReplyDelete

Oh! That red sweater is so sweet on him with lots of room to grow too. (a good thing since you spent all that time knitting it - it'll get lots of use). And the textured sweater is such a beautiful color.ReplyDelete
The sweater is wonderful, and the model is a pro! Very cute. xReplyDelete
I love the shade of red you chose! It is quite cheerful but not overly bright. The little sweater you are knitting has a fantastic stitch pattern!ReplyDelete
Oh wow, I love the red sweater. I thought I would knit O a red sweater but decided I wouldn't have the time and cast on a hat instead. Now I might just go for the sweater too. O loves red :)ReplyDelete

Oh I love the red sweater/jumper. It makes me want to knit up a cable jumper for each of my little ones. Hmm. There is still time before Christmas, isn't there?ReplyDelete
Joy, that sweater looks fantastic! Great job! I have GOT to learn how to knit - but I just sit and stare at my knitting needles. Guess I'll have to find a class somewhere :)ReplyDelete
