Joining Ginny for Yarn Along this morning, I have a couple of works currently in progress. I decided that in addition to the Shalom cardigan, I would like to have new neckwear for our trip to NYC this weekend. The Shifting Sands cowl seemed like a good fit and I found some orange Malabrigo sock yarn in my stash. I'm about 3/4 of the way done so I'm fairly certain I can finish it by tomorrow evening. :)
We also started reading a new book at bedtime, Caddie Woodlawn. I think my oldest read it years ago, but I started reading it to the whole group this weekend. It's like a spunkier, slightly less sweet version of Laura Ingalls. I think the kids enjoy hearing about Caddie's escapades though.
I also started a pair of socks for Elizabeth's birthday. I chose Hermione's Everyday Socks for the pattern and Stroll Hand-Painted Sock yarn in Lullaby. I think she'll like the texture, and let's be honest, the name will have some pull as well.
Since last week, I've finished my thick wooly socks. They are cozy, if not particularly fancy, and will keep my feet warm this winter. I also finished Paul's acorn hat (without the little nub on top). But he has yet to let me photograph him wearing it.
You have amazing taste in yarn colors! I could easily go yarn shopping with you ;) Love the cowl and it's going to look great on your trip!!ReplyDelete
Ah, all those great colors. That orange is just fantastic!ReplyDelete
The socks has me at hello. Hermoine's everyday is one of my favorite patterns.

Beautiful colors! I'm not usually attracted to oranges, but that orange is goregous! Caddie Woodlawn was one of my favorite books as a little girl. I haven't read it to my boys quite yet, but it's on the list to hit soon.ReplyDelete

Love the colors of your knitting! Especially the socks for Elizabeth. She's going to love them.ReplyDelete
What inspiring knitting! I love the bright colors and your photos. We read Caddie Woodlawn a few months ago, and everyone loved it. We followed that book with several lesser-known titles by Carol Ryrie Brink, and she's become a favorite author. :)ReplyDelete
Love all your colorful projects. Looks like you've been busy with your knitting.ReplyDelete
I especially love your orange cowl, very cozy.
Oh I love the orange cowl!!!! Gorgeous! And the socks...I love the blue! I've wanted to knit the Hermione socks for awhile now but have never done 2 circulars. I see you adapted it to dpns. I may have to try that!ReplyDelete
