I...I have been thinking about doing the same thing! In the process of taking all the old stuff out! Here is a blog that I found that is a bit helpful. http://www.rosalindcreasy.com/ I did hear the same rosemary, lavender and sage are good. But I am wanting to go a little more edible if you know what I mean. More like berries and such. I will be looking into this book and checking to see if you have posted more about this! Love the color.

I think I borrowed that book from the library but can't remember- I'd love to do this to our front yard since we're on a hill and it's sort of pie-shaped and our grass is always always always yucky. In fact, we were thinking of alternatives to grass. Just wondering about what to put in - do blueberry bushes lose their leaves during winter? I need to find things that look sort of good all throughout the year or maybe intersperse it. We don't really have a front yard, just side and back yards, and I am all for digging up all of it for food :-) Starting small is definitely a good idea. I never can, and end up pulling a bunch of stuff that is crowded, or isn't working out well...but I don't plant any perennials...and probably should :-) A book that I absolutely love is The Backyard Homestead, there is a lot of good information in it for what you can do in your own yard.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12261179479821073705noreply@blogger.com
